SQL is the solo project of Pim van Horssen a.k.a. dj Rebel.

Pim was born in a small city near Amsterdam, the Netherlands were he grew up and found his passion for music. At the age of 13 he was interested in music of all styles and wanted to be able to participate in the creation of it. He started playing several instruments like the bassguitar and drums and started playing in some local rock bands. 

After a few years of playing at the age of 16 Pim for the first time got in contact with electronic music. About one year later he started dj'ing and collecting music in a broad range of styles. In this same time he got some production software and started experimenting with creation sounds and pieces of music.

With his first progressive project “Organix” he got the opportunity to experiment some more together with his highschool friend dj Ix. The project made a studio album, released some compilations and got to play in several big partys around the globe like “Universo Paralello” and “Soulvision” in brazil and clubs like Studio 80 and Escape in Holland.

After collecting and playing some more as a dj and with his first project he started developing his own taste and sound. After some years of being part in the project “Organix” Pim felt the urge to focus on his own career in the form of a solo project. It wasn’t until he found his own specific taste of music that the project “SQL” began to take shape. His style can be described as a fusion of Progressive, Minimal, Techno with a touch of House which is always developing like the electronic music scene by itself.

During his last tour in Brazil some first tracks were made and the very first releases were already planned. When Pim arrived back in Holland after an intense tour in brazil he locked himself up in the studio to work up his production skills and develop the sound of “SQL”.

For this year the project is getting some great response of fellow producers all over the world, and with an impressive release schedule the project is bound to be succesfull.
